Torbay Advice Network is a quality assured Charity which supports the advice and information sector in Torbay. We also provide front-line support for communities and practitioners via bespoke training and advocacy covering issues such as, welfare reforms, tax credits, which benefits, disability transition, income maximzation, autism, challenging behaviour, employment law, dementia and many more social, personal and welfare workshops.
Our services are predominantly funded through grants as well as nominal fees charged for attendance on our workshops. We also provide a variety of free advice and support so please view our about us tab at the top of the web page or click here.
Below highlights some of our recently delivered training and advice workshops for communities, volunteers & practitioners.
Asperger's & Autism - One Stop Workshops: The workshop covered guidance on areas such as Equality & Autism Acts, how to access statutory support services and how to support someone in getting a diagnosis.
Intoduction to Welfare Benefits: The workshop covered guidance on who can claim what, difference to means-tested and contributory benefits, when to claim, disputing decisions, good houskeeping and signposting resources.
Rightsbridge MH: Our workshop covered an overview of key welfare benefits and why they are important, when and how to claim, where to get further advice, remaining in work, employment support services, volunteering and benefit issues and signposting.
Back to Work Support: Our workshops gave guidance on, Equality Act, Jobcentre Plus Role, Local Specialist Support, Voluntary Work & Educational Work Rules, Access to work funding and in work benefits.
