Who We Are
Torbay Advice Network was set up in 2006 to implement the recommendations of the Advice Strategy around Quality, Training, Access, Volunteer recruitment and Strategic Voice.
We are passionate about advocating for individuals' welfare benefit rights, providing essential training for practitioners, and acting as an advice resource for our community.
We are funded predominantly through national grants and local authority contracts.
Our Core Aims:
To make a difference by providing advocacy to enable people to understand their rights and choices and support them in resolving welfare rights issues.
We do this by:
- Delivering high-quality and accessible welfare benefits information, advice and guidance.
- Encouraging long-term independence through advocacy support.
- Delivering housing advice and advocacy to enable people to remain in their home.
- Signposting people to sources of support to further enable health and wellbeing needs.
- Providing advice through our resource hub to enable people to make their own informed decisions.
- Training front-line practitioners who work with and support vulnerable people.
- Providing impactful training to local communities to self-help and empower.
Torbay Advice Network is a registered charity (1118604) and company, limited by guarantee (05979205) and governed by a board of directors and Trustees.
