Financial Capability
Increase awareness of the benefits of financial capability for money advice clients and identify way to promote it.
Objectives:
- To describe the differences between financial capability work and money advice
- To be able to describe a range of financial capability projects.
- To identify the potential advantages of improved financial capability skills for money advice clients and workers
- To challenge attitudes and assumptions about clients and finance
- To know about organisations that promote financial capability
- To enable participants to incorporate financial capability into their work
Budgeting Skills
Encourage the development of personal and family budgeting skills
Objectives:
- Demonstrate the key elements of a personal and family budgeting sheet
- Identify the reasons for budgeting
- Acknowledge and discuss obstacles to acquiring the budgeting habit
- Work through some budgeting case studies
- Identify organisations that offer training in budgeting skills
