Our years training programme has kicked off with a massive success. We were commissioned by Torbay council to run training on their behalf on Welfare Reform. Since March the training has been attended by 234 people from 70 organisations. The course was so popular that we had to keep adding more dates and ended running the session 7 times.

The following is a quote from Sue Churchill and Jayne Strudwick from Torbay Council,

'Following new legislation it was decided that it would be appropriate for extensive training to be offered to a variety of organisations who assist customers with their Housing & Benefit queries.

A series of events were held across Torbay from March to August & in excess of 200 people attended these sessions. At the events an overview of the Housing Benefit changes from April 2011 was given along with information about the advice and support that Housing Options can offer to assist customers who are faced with these changes in their benefit.

Through these events we have been able to reach many services who support customers and make them aware of the help and assistance that is available to their customers during the process of these changes.

The TAN team were extremely helpful in organising all aspects of this training, including venues across the Bay (to ensure as many options were available as possible) advertising the events, compiling both waiting list and attendances. This was done with efficiency and a helpful attitude and was hugely appreciated .
