New Website

The Torbay Advice Network website is now successfully up and running and will continue to be developed and updated. If your organisation is not included within the site and you would like us to add you or if you have any suggestions on how to improve the site then please do contact us .
The site is available to the public and so please feel free to publicise it to your staff and clients.

Training

Details of our training courses and booking forms are available and we will be sending out details of further courses as they are added.  We have added some new courses in response to requests but if you have any further training needs then please do let us know and we will try to accommodate them.

Financial Solutions Training

Developed in conjunction with Torbay Council this course will allow advisors to offer an holistic view to debt and benefits.
The Financial Solutions course is being rerun details can be found on the Financial Solutions Course page. So far 88 people have attended some of the modules of this course, and we are trying to encourage all participants to complete the course.

Landlord training

Torbay Advice Network in conjunction with Torbay Council recently held a successful training day for new landlords and another course is being planned for September.

Elizabeth Finn Care

Elizabeth Finn Care gives money to help people who have less than £4,000 in savings and, lacking enough household income to manage a bare hand-to-mouth existence.
By giving just that little bit more money beyond State Benefit provision, Elizabeth Finn Care enables people to:
  • pay for the things they vitally need
  • take charge of their lives once more, and
  • plan for a future
They help people whose former careers have been interrupted or ended through circumstances beyond their control: physical or mental illness, redundancy, family breakdown.  Their client group primarily consists of people who have formerly held occupations requiring a degree of responsibility and education. They must be of British or Irish nationality and over eighteen years old. There are no geographic or religious restrictions.

Cosy Devon

Cosy Devon is a major campaign which offers home owners, people privately renting and landlords free or greatly reduced prices on home insulation. The scheme is backed by all ten local authorities across Devon, Devon County Council, the Energy Savings Trust and E.ON.
Loft and cavity wall insulation can be installed FREE for those aged 70 or over or in receipt of certain qualifying benefits, including housing benefit. All other households can get a free, no obligation survey and then have their home insulated for as little as £150.
